Slight rust spots inside sanke fermenter

Quick question is can i use acid #5 to remove rust and re passivate stainless? Most stuff i read mentions citric or nitric acid for this but i don't have any. i do have some #5.

Depending on the answer above is yes, next question is how do u do it?

We used citric where I worked before as a metal scavenger. Don't remember concentration. We mixed granules and water. You can get citric with canning supplies.

Unfortunately these still have the 2 inch neck on them. There is no way to get bar keepers friend in there.
