Does anyone know where I can find an adapter to fit a ball lock post for dispensing from a uKeg? Female end for uKeg upper fitting and male end for ball lock post.

Bingo. I contacted GrowlerWerks and that’s what they told me. I also went to a plumbing supply store and he told me the same thing just by looking at the thread.
What is the reason for not using the UKeg's built in faucet?

No reason. Was just trying to jury-rig a ball lock post on there.
Trong has an adapter:

I use this and it's fine. I kept the original rubber dip tube-ish gasket and tightened the adapter quite tight. There was a minor gas leak prior to tightening.
And you know there's an official ball lock lid for gas in? (did they change their name to perfectwerks?)
