Hello I have a question I am using little over 5ft of 3/8ID silicone tubing on my 1/2in racking cane. So basically my question is it ok to use silicone tubing on my racking cane an also is a little over 5ft long enough for brewing purpose.

I used to use vinyl tubing on my racking can, but it was a little stiff. It wouldn't lay down well in the bottom of the bottling bucket, and that seemed to cause splashing. I switched to silicone tubing - it's much more flexible and lays down in the bottom without causing splashing. I think mine is 5'6" - it all depends on your equipment.
