Hey everyone! Finally made my account!

I broke into homebrewing with some help from my dad. I bought him a Brooklyn Brew Shop kit for Christmas 2012 and when we finally cracked open the bottles, we were both pleasently surprised, and had a lot of fun doing it!

2 weeks go by, and my dad calls me up "When will you be back over? I picked up a 5 gallon kit!" and have brewed 15 batches with him so far.

I love projects, and my ideal setup will be an electric brewery (Kal-like) with a BCS-460 at the core. I've already built up an immersion cooler, cooler MLT, and I just picked up my first 3 ball lock kegs (which will inevitibly start me on a path towards a keezer project).

My dad likes the brewers best extract/partial mash kits (kolsch and munich helles were his favorites) and I'm a fan of going all-grain. My wife (we were just married 2 weeks ago!) is supportive of the hobby (and a beer drinker!) but definitely is more frugal than I am and that will surely increase the time to completion for most projects in the most responsible (though least fun) way. Starting to learn the SWMBO thing early.

I'm sure I'll post more when things happen or questions arise! Looking forward to participating!

drop the stupid swmbo thing and be a man. you're only 2 weeks in so set the correct precedent early on.
where in morris county are you? i'm in Boonton and we have a pretty good local homebrew store- Cask and Kettle homebrew

Live in Hopatcong, Dad's in Jefferson, work in Rockaway. I have yet to get over to Cask and Kettle (Dad has been buying the kits from Corrados, and I've made my few trips for grain to Homebrew U in Hackettstown).

When the only debt in our marriage is under my name, then yes, going crazy for a full blown Kal clone is not happening. 2 weeks in has nothing to do with that aspect of it. Once my debt is paid down, then it's another story.
