+1 on the stylized image of your dog- I think it works well, very ephemeral. Plus most people who have seen dogs in snow know exactly the kind of positive energy your jack russell is enjoying at that moment.

Not having seen the original photo, I can imagine it being a bit overwhelming. The illustration look lends it a certain timeless quality- almost Norman Rockwellesque.

New one for my Scottish Heavy with the neck label. Tried to keep the palette simple.

Here's my latest label. I bottled it with a friend on mother's day, so we decided to name it after the greatest mother of them all.

I was going for a 1950s type diner theme with a sort of stamp/letterpress distress. ... The label is going to be permanent (more or less), with the black circle in the center being chalkboard paint where I can write the beer name/stats for that particular bottle. Thanks for any critique!

This is great. I love the look and the idea of the chalkboard paint in the centre. Great work! :mug:

This is my first label. I just whipped it up kind of quickly because my brother is graduating from college on Friday and my mom is throwing a party at her house on Saturday...where I'll be debuting this batch of beer. Nothing crazy. Text-heavy because I just lack the time and talent to create something more graphic at the moment. A friend of mine designed the logo.

...btw, I know there seems to be a typo in the side label. The word 'of' is supposed to be before 'fresh grains,' but it got hidden behind the QR code when I was formatting...I don't read sideways very well, apparently. I'm fixing it before I print.

Not entirely original. I saw something similar on a graphic design website. A student submitted it for a design project for a fictitious bourdon bottle tag that would hang from the neck.

I saw it on TheDieLine.com

Also, just a thought...what about moving the QR code on the back label? Maybe replace the bottom spade with the QR code. Something about its current location just seems a bit off. Also, the bottom spades should be upside down, I think. Most playing cards do it that way. Otherwise, great!

Wow! There's a lot of artistic talent here. I don't have one ounce of talent for creating the art for labels. I don't even have a Brewery name.
You guys are great.

Yeah, I was having trouble finding a nice resting spot for the code. And you're totally right about the upside down spade, going to make those changes this weekend. . . Thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated! :mug:

I have no talent and this is my first label, but I thought this was a good idea for a high gravity beer and I like it.

Nice, love the referance. Kind of surprised that I got it, haha.

Thanks. I searched but didn't find the reference in any other beer names. That surprised me given the doctor's description of the changes in Gage:

The equilibrium or balance, so to speak, between his intellectual faculties and animal propensities, seems to have been destroyed. He is fitful, irreverent, indulging at times in the grossest profanity (which was not previously his custom), manifesting but little deference for his fellows, impatient of restraint or advice when it conflicts with his desires, at times pertinaciously obstinate, yet capricious and vacillating, devising many plans of future operations, which are no sooner arranged than they are abandoned in turn for others appearing more feasible. A child in his intellectual capacity and manifestations, he has the animal passions of a strong man. Previous to his injury, although untrained in the schools, he possessed a well-balanced mind, and was looked upon by those who knew him as a shrewd, smart businessman, very energetic and persistent in executing all his plans of operation. In this regard his mind was radically changed, so decidedly that his friends and acquaintances said he was "no longer Gage."[11]

Seems perfect for a high gravity beer to me! ;)

When I saw the image I was definitely thinking "Impaled Pale Ale". But I'm sure it's already been done many times.

Threw this together real quick for a hefeweizen I'm brewing tomorrow. Got the idea from a t-shirt. Of course, on the shirt it was spelled "WISE"
Plan on putting the tasting notes on the right when it's ready.
