First batch done whilst in lockdown. Kit used from whatever I could find around the house used Pasteurized apple juice 4lts and some bakers yeast but to be honest no scummy head but lots of bubbling. I stopped it after 5 days and in the fridge now after taking Out of the fermenter. There is certainly a bit of a vinegar/yeast taste but not overpowering....so what did i do. Went out and bought a different pasteurized apple juice, a different yeast and wow what a difference. Not even 24hrs and it’s fermenting like a mofo.
unfortunately no abv tester at hand to see what I’m pulling but you can certainly feel it on the 1st batch and that’s just testing......
overall very happy and having a great science experiment with beneficial results....I have the bug of home brewing
