I have a 5.5 gallon Igloo maxcold cooler I use for my 2.5 gallon batches in the winter. It works well for moderate to high gravity 5 gallon batches too. I've thought about making a smaller mash tun but the one I have now seems to work well with the half batches.
Your mini mash tun looks sweet! I dig the hiking sticker too!!

Sweet. I'm looking to build a tiny brew set up.. I already have a 10 gallon set up that works great, but I want to build something tiny to make like half gallon batches or less, the smaller the better! Thinking of using a 1 gallon water jug as a mash tun.. Or maybe something like a big insulated French press ..

That way I can boil over a small camping stove I have, I could brew beer on a camping trip lol.
