I brewed two batches yesterday - an IPA and an amber ale. The amber is bubbling away nicely with a nice krausen across the top - but the IPA is just sitting there - no bubbles - no krausen. I think it might have been too warm when I pitched, should I wait a day or so and if nothing happens pitch another batch of yeast?

In this brew I used dry yeast - Safale US-04.

How warm is "too warm"? I agree with your plan to be patient and give it another day. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer. If by late Monday you still don't have any activity, repitch

I'm an idiot and didn't take a reading. But it was pretty warm to the touch. I guess i got impatient since i planned two brews.

Warm to the touch probably means that the wort was still at least in the mid 80s. I'd be prepared to repitch

I woke up this morning and there was a minimal amount of activity. There was a small evidence of a krausen, but no real activity, so I re-pitched with Safale US-04. After about 3 hours, I'm seeing proper bubbling within the airlock. Fingers crossed!
