Should I get a 5 or 6 gallon carboy

bigger is always better !!!!!

I would go for the 6 gallon

That way in a few weeks when you do a brew and it has a very active fermentation you will not have to worry so much about it spilling out of your blow off tube !
 
If it's one or the other then I'd go for the bigger.
I wouldn't be concerned too much about the head space.

If it's a problem (Which it isn't) then don't use a secondary unless you need to.

All my vessels are 6.5 USG.
 
dont some people secondary with friut or other things in there as well as the beer? would this make the volume over 5 gallons requiring a 6 gallon carboy?

thoughts?
