Good Afternoon!

I have seen this heater recommended for adding to stovetop BIAB systems to help cut down on the boil time. I was thinking about getting one, but I'm not too sure. How does it keep from shocking you? Are you reliant on a GFCI outlet? There doesn't seem to be a ground.

Or am I misunderstanding heating elements. Does the electricity come into contact with the water, which I believe is a great conductor? Could someone give me insight into these questions?

Thanks

Electricity does not come into contact with the water unless there's a break in the coil. And if there is, it will trip the breaker. You will be using a GFCI breaker, right?
