Took my Tiki Ridge porter swapped out 1/2 (2 lbs) the 2 row and replaced it with 2 lbs of Pale Ale Malt. Also changed the bittering hops from Fuggles to Apollo and the aroma/flavor hops from Fuggles to Williamette.

Then in 3 weeks to add one vanilla bean harvested in the wild up in the valley. Friend of mine spent weeks hiking 2+ hours each time to pollinate the flowers. Should be interesting.

Here is the picture that will be on the label. This was the site where workers on the Coffee Plantation lived back in the first decade of the 1900's. We spent months cutting back the jungle to get this view.

Very cool. Did you find the beans growing there or did you plant/transplant them?

They were planted by Coffee plantation workers around 1905. They have to be hand pollinated as the bug that does it naturally is not in Hawai`i.
There is/are many many of the vines in one area.

Tried one bottle after only 1 week of carbonation. Hmmmmm good....there is a very smoothness to this bier and I "think" it's a taste of the vanilla that does it. Could use more carbonation. Gonna wait at least 1 more week.
