I have a wit in the primary right now, and have just spoken to my brother who is telling me to absolutly put it into a secondary..should I? what are the benifits? If I do should I add anything to it? In the boil I used bitter orange zest, irish moss and corriander. Any suggestions on what I should do, or should I just leave it in the primary until I am ready to bottle?

a wit is supposed to be a little cloudy, so i'd say it doesn't matter. but i am a noob here. tomorrow i will be brewing my second wit, and i will leave it in primary only, for 3-3.5 weeks

My beautiful orange Wit was tranferred to the secondary yesterday. Now the orange color is on the bottom half of the secondary and a redish-orange (kinda clear) fluid is on the top half. Not sure where this 2 week process is going, but I am along for the ride.

no need to, just leave it in the primary for 2+ weeks. secondary is only absolutely necessary if its going to be sitting for months or you're racking it onto something.

Just like a Hefe Weizen there is absolutely no NEED to do a secondary.

HOWEVER...I make a lot of HWs and ALWAYS do a secondary. I do this to allow more of the yeast to drop out of suspension. If it gets too clear I just rack some yeast back into the bottling bucket. This make the brew cloudy again, but with a lighter yeast flavor. All too simple. ;)
