Hey all,

I somehow forgot that I had a wheat beer sitting in secondary for 6 months. I siphoned some beer off the top and added some sugar but didn't see any action. How much yeast should I add while bottling to make sure the beer is carbonated?

Thanks for all your help... I can't believe i forgot about my beer :cross:!

What do you mean by "didn't see much action"?

If the yeast is done, which it may very well be after 6 months conditioning, I'd add just a tiny pinch of dry yeast to each bottle.

I didn't see any foaming after I added the sugar to the amount I siphoned off. which indicated to me that all the yeast must have settled out. Is there a rule of thumb of how much yeast to add to attain carbonation?

Thanks DocScott for your help!

Thanks for all your help.
