Secondary and bottling

I have a gallon of cider in secondary.. How long should I leave it for before I bottle? And for a 12oz bottles, to carbonate.. Can I just add a tsp of sugar?

I left mine to age for roughly 10 months in the secondary. Watch for bottle bombs and cider
