Quick noob question. When I have a boil up do I need to scrape the hops that are now stuck to the side of the kettle back down into the wort or can I just leave it there?

I think I understand ur question it sounds like u just pitched the hops right into the wort and after chilling u ran the wort into ur carboy and there is some hop material still in the brewpot if this is what's going on just throw them down the drain

Thanks I figured I would ask after my third time scraping them back in if it was necessary.

I do too,but the real fine stuff works it's way through the mesh of the hop sack,& makes a "ring around the collar" that I scrape back in as well. I want all the flavors I can get out of them. And boy,did my fermenter have a huge ring around the collar this time.
Up to 1/4" thick,& covering the top 4th of the fermenter! I caught it coming through the airlock cover like "the Blob" when we walked in from running errands. Broke out the dremel,& an old 1/2G vodka jug to make a proper blow off real quick. But the blob was all that came to mind at that point. Friggin hilarious to think about it that way!
