So after two weeks conditioning, I popped one open last night. This was a partial mash kit; AHB Summit IPA using only summit pellets. I dryhopped with cascade in the secondary though as I forgot to add in the aroma hops at the end of the boil:drunk: .
It has a nice amber color with a caramel and citrus nose. Not really in your face hoppyness but they are there. I poured down the side and about halfway through I poured down the middle ending up with about an inch of head that stays strong through the last sip. Nice lacing along the glass as well. It does have chill haze but I don't really worry about that.
As far as taste goes, this thing is just pure deliciousness. I actually popped open a second one, fairly warm, because it was so tasty. It has a nice sweetness to it that counters the bitterness perfectly. When I drink this beer I think of how balanced it is. This is by far the best IPA I've ever had and I love the Summit hops. I'm actually brewing this again as an AG recipe because this one is not going to last long.
If anyone wants an awesome IPA, try this one out...it's really amazing.

sounds great! got an AG recipe? I'm looking for a few good IPA's right now.

As far as an AG recipe..I don't have one yet. I can get the PM recipe when I get home. I know it's Maris Otter for the base, then some Caramunich, crystal 40 and vienna as well.
I used Pacman on this one as well and fermented at 60.

It was windy as hell that day and I had to put some plywood up to get it to a boil:D

Check out my new Double IPA recipe---click my recipe database below my avatar. That stuff is absurdly good. I highly recommend it to anyone who is into IPA's. It's a huge brew, but damned fine. The oak is a must. It's partial mash...for AG, omit the extract and up the Pale Malt to 13.5 lbs.

being from Oregon and reading 'plywood IPA' i had assumed someone else remembered the old Henry Weinhards 'Schludwiller' ads when they bragged about their proprietary 'plywood vat aging'

i remembered and i laughed
