Anyone know if it's possible to reprogram a commercial freezer's built-in temp control so that it works within fridge temps?

-The built-in controllers have some great features like turning off the fan the second the door is opened so that they're more energy efficient and I'd hate to lose that by going around the built-in controllers...

I'm finding a lot of really nice commercial freezers available but not a lot of fridges, but most of the built-in controllers only allow you to set the set temperature to between -10F and 10F and not anywhere near lagering or fermentation temps. Using an external Johnson controller and drilling a hole in the thing seems pretty unnecesary as they already have high accuracy and efficiency controllers that are built-to-purpose.

Many of the companies have essentially the same physical chassis available as either a fridge or freezer (larger sized AC compressor for the freezer with temp controller programmed for colder temp range.) -The freezers obviously pull more amps, too.

See Turbo Air MSF-23NM and MSR-23NM as a great example:

All stainless (inside and out) and a serious 1/2 hp compressor; and I can find this thing (Freeezer version) cheaper than any used True GDM-26 merchadiser. -Better compressor and better materials for cheaper... But I'm wondering about the temp control...
