How offen do you replace your brew buckets Morebeer says after 7-10.
I used mine for like 25-50 till the brews started tasting a bit off

I haven't replaced mine yet. I'm pretty sure each one has been through about thirty batches.

I'm still using the Cooper's Micro Brew fermenter I started with 1/11. I tossed the BB Ale Pail when it got a bad lacto infection, but mostly because I wanted the Midwest 7.9G shorty bucket. Keep'em clean & don't scrub with harsh pads or anything, clean the spigots after every use & they'll last indefinitely. No need to waste $$ replacing them after every 7-10 brews.

Been using one of my fermenter buckets since 2010. I call her old reliable brew everything in her mead, wine, cider, beer, etc. never had an off flavor yet. Just keep them clean and sanitized they'll last a life time.

I don't know how long I've had some of my buckets, maybe 10 years?

Some did get scratched and so I relegated some of them to grain storage, but I know that at least a few of them are 8-10 years old. I'd guess that my two favorite ones, 8 gallon buckets, have probably each done 100 batches or so or more. I brew ten gallon batches, and use those two buckets most of the time.

They make more money that way. That's about the only reason there is. Take care of them & they'll last a very long time. That's what experience says...:tank:

I use 3 HDPE brew containers (not buckets) that I bought in the early 80s in the UK, and a 20 year old glass carboy. They have seen hundreds of batches. No problems, got 2 of them full right now.

Take care of your fermenters, and keep them clean, and they will last until the handle falls off.

I have 4 buckets that I use for fermenting. All prob seen at least 20 batches or so. Ive only quit using 2 buckets (use for storing grain now) cause my kids decided to use them for toy storage and I was a bit worried about using them.
