I’m having difficulty removing hose ends from barbs, when needed. Some stay connected, of course, like the Co2 lines in my kegerator. Others need to be disconnected once a month or so, include the beer lines. To run line cleaner through the beer lines I’ve got to remove the quick disconnects. After being kegerator - I keep mine at 34 degrees - it seems nearly impossible to remove without cutting the line. So I end up removing about an inch of beer line every time... they’re certainly not 5’ anymore, Toto! Also, I have the SS Brewtech FTSs system, with hoses connected to the coils through the fermenter lid. Disconnecting these hoses to clean the coils and lid is extremely difficult because, again, the cold water running through them.

Is there a simple way to help remove hose ends from these barbs, without having to cut them any shorter?

Thanks all, and cheers!
Jackson

Rotating the hose back and forth while at the sime time pulling usually gets the job done.

Heat really helps too. Either a blow drier or cup of hot water to pour over or even plants in if it fits.

The answer is to stop removing hoses from barbs and use disconnects. If your beer QDs have barb molded in, switch them to the MFL version if you absolutely have to disconnect your lines. Another alternative is to stop taking the QDs off and use another part to get your cleaning solution in. Look at all these ways to connect to them: BrewHardware.com - High end, practical homebrewing hardware, accessories and ingredients for making beer, wine, mead, and cider.
