regulator relocation

Has anybody relocated their primary co2 regulator off of the bottle? Mine is going in a very tight spot, and will be too wide with a regulator coming off the side of the valve. A simple 90 degree elbow would fix this, but I have not been able to find anything out about relocating the regulator.

You would need a high pressure line, which isn't cheap.

A 90* elbow shouldn't be hard to find, you would just need to use one between he stem and the regulator itself.

If all you need is a 90degree elbow then a hardware store should have it in their brass parts section.

I only have just enough space to fit the tank. It will be too large with the regulator shooting out the side of the valve. If I can put in a 90 degree bend and mount the regulator vertically, it should fit. It seems like most regulators high pressure input is just a 1/4" FNPT tap. Can anyone confirm this?

Looks more like 3/4" to me...but I don't have my tank with me.

All of my primaries have 1/4" left hand threads.

Yeah, they're 1/4" NPT, but some brands are left handed some are right handed.

Am I thinking of something else? This is the nut that you screw onto the tank? The one you need the ~1" wrench for?

I'm planning on separating the regulator from the post that connects it to the valve, and installing it on a 90 degree elbow. I'll look around for swivel fittings in case the threads don't tighten up with the regulator where I want it.

I went the route of the high pressure hose (linked earlier in the thread). Works well for me. Regulators are now mounted to the keezer collar, and the tank sits outside on the floor, with the line going through the collar to the regulators.
