Refrigerator Control in Freezer

I'm sorry if this has been covered before. But can you use a refrigerator control in a freezer? Like the kind from Home Depot. I see the controls are cheap on Ebay.

Yep, most of the temperature controls out there basically power unit on and off depending on the set temperature, so if your fridge/freezer is below temp, unit has no power, if it's above unit is powered up until temp is reached.
