There seems to be numerous types available and i'm trying to figure out what to buy and where to buy. Would prefer not to make a mistake and have to rebuy later.

Currently, I run a primary double gauge taprite regulator to a 3-body secondary taprite regulator with 1/4" barbs, with vinyl tubing.

What are the best choices (quality) for gas line and beverage line?

If I had unlimited funds I would of gone with Ultra Barrier Silver but since I'm on a budget I bought 100' of this and it has worked out great:

This is a good option. And with an unlimited budget yes, you certainly could do a lot of "damage" to a sweet setup for sure.

However, I would go with this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E6BD0G0/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 instead as it is 1/4 insted of 3/16 inch. Also, when it comes to gas lines, 5/16 red or blue are a good choice. I would look at something like this http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/hoses-cid-633.html.

Hope this helps get you on the right track. I'm actually researching my needs for such items as I am building my second kegerator now so I know how you feel.

Unless you are have a fire do not use 1/4 inch beer line it will pour like a fire hose. You would need twice the length of 1/4 inch compared to 3/16 inch to get the resistant you need for a good pour.

+1

Agreed about the 1/4" tubing. Stick with 3/16". 10' beer lines served at ~10-12 psi will net a good pour. I recently did some experimenting with different sized beer lines, and 3/16" is the way to go, unless you are running beer line for a very long distance.

As for gas tubing, Vinyl works great. Just redid my whole gas-side with red vinyl. Found it for a fairly good price online, too.

After a close call with colored gas lines, I'd recommend using clear lines for gas. I had some beer back up into the gas line and didn't know about it until the keg kicked and I cleaned the gas quick disconnect. You don't want beer making it back to your regulator.
