I've got a Blichman 20G kettle that has a 1.25" hole in it for an electric element. I had it wired up with a junction box on the outside (Kal style), and after 2 years of using it I needed to pull it apart to replace the element.
Instead of just re-doing what I had, I'm looking to get a tri-clamp welded on so I can more easily remove my element (purchasing something like this).
I'm going to look for someone to enlarge the hole to about 1.5" and sanitary solder the tri-clamp flange onto my kettle. Is there anything else I should be specifying?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a welder in the Hartford, CT area? (And what's the going rate for something like this? $50? $100?)
