Hey guys, I've tried to sift through the previous threads and there seems to be tons of varying methods to build this. Today, I stopped by my storage shed and pulled out a junk box of wires I've been collecting.

From this:

I finally stopped digging when I got a few dug out. Still many more. lol

Can anyone take a look at this fan and give me a suggestion on the output limits I would need to be trying to find from this pile.

Fan is 12volt DC 0.56A

Surely one of those power supplies will work. lol

They are all DC current. Mix of 12, 7.5 and I think even a few 3 volts. I was mainly asking about the best choice range for amperage for this size fan.

I have read in several places that with some fans, 12 volts is too much.

Thanks,

Your fan is designed for use at 12VDC, so that wouldn't be too much. The label on the fan also states 0.56A, so make sure your power supply delivers enough current. You might want to add some kind of speed control, as the fan may turn too fast at full voltage, and throw the stir bar. Either a potentiometer or a variable voltage regulator.
