would it be ok to set up a herms/recirculation mash using a bazooka screen in the mash tun as opposed to a false bottom? Any issues with flow rate or stuck grains. I am not too concerned with efficiency.
I haven't been able to find any good information about this so any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I suppose this could be done.

The primary reason for using a false bottom is to separate the heat source from the grain, and if you recirculate without adding heat your mash will cool considerably faster.

Why do you want to recirculate, because all the cool kids are doing it ? Lol jk

Thanks for the response, I guess I should have been more clear in my question. I am looking to convert to electric and I want to do a recirculation mash and have it run through a heat exchanger in the HLT, I was considering doing a full volume mash like you would in a EBIAB, but without the bag and in 2 vessels. So I was wondering if the bazooka screen would be an OK solution.
I only do 5 gal batches and have 10 gallon kettles
