I really like this recipe from northern brewer. It is called "the innkeeper". The problem is that it is weak... Like a 3.2% alc. beer. My keg goes real quick. I am not an alcohol hound or anything. I am looking for more of a 5% beer. I know that the flavor may be ruined if I just boost the corn sugar, and if I add more Maris otter, I will need to adjust the hops to get a similar flavor. I just don't know how much. Suggestions?

The recipe:

Steeping grains:
.25 English extra dark crystal
.25 Belgian biscuit malt

3.15 # Maris otter malt syrup
1# Pilsen dme
1# corn sugar

1 oz. fugue (60)
1 oz uk Kent goldings (45)
1 oz. Styrian goldings (5)

At 1.043 that kit should be giving you about 4.2-4.5% ABV for 5 gals. Did you measure your FG? So essentially looks like you want to bump it up from a best bitter to a strong bitter. Plugging it in as is it looks like the IBU's are already in the 38-40 range. You could probably do something like add another lb of DME, move that 45 min addition to 60, then throw in an oz of EKG or Styrian at 10-15 min. Should get you around 1.052 and 40-45 IBU.
