Hi folks. Just started biab and love it. First batch was way beyond anything I'd made before.

I'm looking for an IPA type beer recipe with a nice wheaty mouthfeel, some subtle caramel and good hop profile. I suppose a kind of cross of a IPA and a weissebeir.

I know it's not much to look for in a beer:) but all help and advice is appreciated.

Look for a chain breaker white IPA clone recipe. Its my favorite beer to brew. I

I do an APA with the following grain bill:

68% 2-row
14% Flaked Oats
14% White Wheat Malt
4% Honey Malt

The wheat and oat give it great head retention and mouthfeel and the honey malt adds nice sweetness. Works well for beers in the 1.060 OG area.

I have wlp060. Would this work well? Have magnum amarillo columbus and ella hops. Any extra ideas?

jnacey, except for the oats that is very similar to the Honey Blonde I just made. I used about 30% Wheat. It turned out very well.

So, to the OP, just choose an IPA that you already like or might like, and sub 15 to 40% wheat for the barley.

I followed the honey blond with a wheat and coriander recipe -
60% 2 row
40% white wheat
no caramel or specialty malts
for a 5 gal batch:
1 oz cracked coriander at 10 min
1 oz Willamette at 60min for bitterness
1/2 oz Cascade at 5 and 3 minutes for aroma
