I posted this on another website and did not get much feedback so I figured I would post it here as well.

Recipe Critique / Recipe Help

So I am brewing a beer for my girlfriend next Tuesday and am going to the store tomorrow to pick up some ingredients. So she is not big into craft beer so I am thinking about making some kind of easy drinking, refreshing wheat beer. I am doing an extract beer and I was going to do a Belgian Wit but I have learned it may be a hard with extract. So what I have put together so far is below.

6lbs Wheat DME

1 oz. Hallertauer 60 min
Maybe some more at 10 min for aroma

Undecided on yeast, not sure what is in stock and fresh at the store, any ideas?

Orange peel 1 tbsp 5min
Coriander-ground 1 tsp 10min
Maltodextrine 15min

Is there anything else I should add during the boil, honey, crystal 20L

I am open to any changes or suggestions, just looking for a nice easy drinking beer that she may like, a nice refreshing summer drinker.

I'm not sure the malto will be necessary with that amount of extract, but it probably won't harm anything. For yeast, I'd probably go with US-05 to make sure you get as much attenuation as you can. I'd refrain from adding any crystal, as it's included in the extract and between that and the malto, it would get overly sweet really quickly.

If you're interested in alternate recipes, BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde is very much a favorite amongst the "mass market" beer drinkers as a good gateway micro. Just a thought :).

I'd go with the orange peel and the coriander; skip the maltodextrin, along with the honey.

For yeast, go with a Wit yeast, such as Wyeast 3944

That recipe looks good but I do not do all grain brewing yet. I am planning on making the switch sometime in the next few months.
