So SWMBO just can't wait for me to open my gift. I asked for some HB equipment and parts. Apparently my SWMBO had actually been listening to me talk about different beers. I open my box to find 4 of these:

Now this beer has been on my "Bucket list" of beers to try. It is not distributed anywhere near me. I was shocked to have 1 let alone 4 and these are fresh! The bottling date was under 30 days when I opened the box and they spent almost a week in the box for shipping.

So, I tossed one in the fridge and waited as long as possible, then I opened it up. Man that is a tasty drop! I may just be ordering up a kit to see how close I can come to the "real deal"...lol.

Nice! One of my roommates is home in California for the holidays and said she'll pick me up some bottles since I drove her to the airport at like 5 AM. Pretty good exchange if you ask me! Glad your SWMBO was able to score you some bottles!

Good score pal, hope you got her something very very nice. Fresh PtE=time to invite a small group of friends over. That is if you have friends who would appreciate what you have there. AND if not I guess you will just have to drink them all yourself. :D

Congratulations on scoring big with Santa! I am also lucky to have a SWMBO who tries to find me good beers - and she doesn't even drink beer! (= more for me :cross:)

My sister sent me two bottles of Blind Pig (http://www.russianriverbrewing.com/pages/brews/blindpig.html) from Russian River and those are pretty fine as well - maybe she can get you those for next year!

Merry Christmas!

That's awesome! I wonder where she got them. She must have researched and bought them online or something. She really picked you out a great gift!

Yes, she got them online from: http://www.caskspirits.com/ She said she entered "Pliney the Elder" into the search and they came up. Shipping on these was NO JOKE. The grand total was +$12 each...way to much per pint but I love her for it...

Yes, she got jewelry and a bunch of other things she wanted. I will be sharing 1 with a friend that does appreciate a good IPA, probably out ice fishing after the holidays.

Good for you! Enjoy them! I guess I am pretty luck to live here in California where we have access to some really good beers.

Thats awesome man, I just tried to order some pliney from that site. They are prohibited from sending it to my state. Damn,I'm never gonna get my hands on some.

I'm jealous! I've never had it, but I here that it is the end all be all of IPAs. I have a friend that lives in Philly and works down here in Norfolk, VA pretty often. Next time she comes down she's bring me at least a 12 pack.
