I've noticed it's hard to clean inside the tubing I use for my siphon, etc. Does anyone re-use their tubes, or do people just discard them and use new ones?

Not sure anyone can afford to use once and toss, every time.

Soak in your favorite cleaner, rinse, hang to dry, sanitize before use.

I toss hose only if it becomes scratched up somehow, crudded up and is a pain to clean, or if I take a lot of time off from the hobby and pick it up again.

Frankly, only your blow off tube should be getting gunked up. All other tubes should be rinsed and cleaned immediately after use so nothing drys up and cruds...it will last quite some time following this rule of thumb!

Good luck!

+1, rinse immediately with hot water, hang to mostly drip dry. Re-use until obviously needing replacement.

thanks for the input. Now that I think about it, it was just my blow-off tube that is all gross. my siphon tube stays pretty clean.

I run a ton of water through my siphon after use, then hang to dry. Then before I use it again I pump a ton of starsan through it. Every so often I run oxyclean through it as well.

I should probably replace the tubing, come to think of it.
