Hey guys. I've been researching and ordering parts to start off in the wonderfull world of electronic brewing. I'm looking to run elsinore on a rasberry pi and one of the things that is escaping me is what I would need between the electrical socket for the pump and the pi board for elsinore to switch it off it on. Sorry if this a little to simple and explained somewhere but I've been reading every thread and build and still can't seem to find it. Any help such as a link to a part would be awesome and greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Something like this. It needs to have an optocoupler. And invert the gpio signal in the software so it is off by default.

Edit: also make sure you have a robust power 5v supply if you will have more than a couple on a once. If not, you'll get the low power "lightning bolt" in upper right corner of screen.

I currently have 1 120v chugger pump right now but will eventually move to two. Do I need the power supply for the optocoupler or just for the pi itself? Thanks again I appreciate all the answers.
