So, I've been lurking around here for quite a while. Finally decided to join to get some questions answered. I've been brewing for about a year now, with 4 batches under my belt. So, I'm still a newbie, but excited to learn as much as I can!

I have a cream ale in the primary right now. I want to add cherry and vanilla to it. I have about 4 lbs of frozen cherries and a pack of vanilla beans. How do I add the cherries? Purée? Just throw them in the secondary as is? How many vanilla beans? Do I cut them open?

Thanks!

There's a good article from BYO about using fruit in various stages of brewing that has helped me a lot here.
