A friend of mine wants me to rig up a wort chiller into his brew kettle. He got this stuff used and the way it is supposed to be done for this particular set up is the wort chiller is semi attached to the brew kettle. By semi attached I mean it is drilled into the kettle and attached using various fittings and am air hose style quick connect fitting on both the in and out side of the chiller.

My questions are many but I will try to only keep it to a few.

1) Is this a good way to go about installing the wort chiller?
2) Will I have to worry about the quick connect fittings leaking (as they seem to always do with my air compressor) and in turn contaminating and diluting the mix?
3) The copper tubing for the chiller seems to all settle in a close grouping at the bottom. Should I try and separate it to give it a more even spaced area to effectively cool the wort?
4) Just bag it and make it so it just rests in the pot over the edges?

Thanks

Well I just rebuilt one to fit how this thing appears it should be. Would still like your input on it. I will post a pic of the semi finished product so you can see exactly what I am talking about.

Here are some pics. Overall views different angles and some clos up of the connectors.

This is my replica of the original as I would have had to cut a lot of copper out to get the bends right in the old one.

Thanks again for any input
