I am brewing my first wheat beer with a variation of a recipe that I found. I was hoping to get some input on whether I should add or subtract anything. I got 1/2 pounds of flaked oats, 1 pound flaked wheat, and 1 pound Cara20L for steeping. Then 6 pounds Wheat DME. One ounce of Kent hops for bittering and one ounce of US Saaz hops for aroma. I was also thinking about putting in some orange flavoring, maybe sweet or bitter orange peel. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Your recipe looks good. Orange peel adds bitterness to a beer, more so than orange flavor, in my experience. If you want a little orange or citrus flavor, try adding some cracked coriander seeds in the final five or ten minutes of the boil. Maybe 1/2 ounce or so.

Well, you've got 1/2 lb flaked oats and 1 lb flaked wheat. They are going to contain a whole bunch of starches, but you don't have any base malt to convert those starches into fermentables.
I'm sorry, but I don't think that recipe is good.

Its an extract with steeping grains recipes, I assume, not a partial mash. Steeping flaked oats and wheat are for flavor and mouthfeel, not fermentables.
