K, looking for a stout or imperial stout kit, maybe from Austin homebrew, that can be tweaked into a pumpkin stout with spices. Any suggestions?

Extract, partial or all-grain?

I don't think you would taste the pumpkin through the stout roastiness personally.

Try this Dogfish Head Pumpkin Ale clone. I made it, and it is a very tasty beer. It is TECHNICALLY a brown, but TRUST ME, you'll swear it is a stout. It is dark, roasty, and higher ABV, yet the pumpkin spice does come through:

10 lbs 2 row
1 lbs Special Roast
1 lbs Crystal 60
Around 60 oz of canned pumpkin in the mash

BOIL
1 lbs brown sugar @ 60 min
1 ounces Hallertauer @ 60 min
1 1/2 TBS PUMPKIN PIE SPICE, boil 15 minutes
1 tablet of whirlfloc @ 15 minutes
1 oz. Hallertauer finishing @ 5 minutes

Wyeast American ale yeast

OG around 1.070
