I've got a packet of pumpkin spice left over from a box of random stuff given to my brew buddy by a friend who no longer brews. We are looking to toss that into either a porter or stout kit. Anyone with experience on this recomend one over the other?

Thanks
J.

Pumpkin spices fit well with a full-bodied stout, IMO.

You may not need the whole packet. Be careful not to overdo it.

Good advice, I'll have to look how much is in there, but subtleties can go a long way, and be more pleasant than a blast of spices. Maybe use 1/2 packet and see what we get.

If it's the packets I've seen in kits, it's actually not enough. I want to say I used the packet plus an extra teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice in my amber and loved it. The packet in the kit I got was maybe a teaspoon?
