Getting ready for the pumpkins to come out , but was wondering, Has anyone use the Libby's pumpkin filling mix in an all grain with the pumpkins? Has any one tried a pumpkin wheat?

I like to use whole spices and weigh them individually. Then grind em up with a morter and pestle. Never tried a pumpkin wheat.

I've used McCormicks "Pumpkin Pie Spice", about 3 tsp. at flameout, and the results were great. Buying all the spices individually (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, etc.) can get damn pricey, unless you have access to a spice market that sells by the oz. Never tried a wheat base malt on this recipe.

I plan on using Penzy's Pumpkin Pie spice mix this year to step up the quality a notch over McCormick's.

I made a pumpkin beer with individually-measured spices last year and accidently put in way too much clove - don't want that to happen again. It was super clovey. We called it Mr. Clove and it was a fun conversation piece, but only drinkable in small quantities.
