Pumpkin Grog Bowl?

So, SWMBO was given a pumpkin today at work. Neither one of us has any artistic ability so I was thinking about turning the pumpkin into a grog bowl and serving AW out of it tomorrow night on Halloweeen?

Anyone done this before? Am I asking for trouble?

I think if you put a bottling spigot in there it would make a handy bowl, although I would like it with otherwise guests might balk at drinking it.

Maybe just draw or carve "XXX" on the front too.

I wonder how it would taste.
I know that pumpkins used in food dishes differ from those grown for carving. Don't know if the flavor differs or if it's the texture.

You could use the foil bags for wine dispensing inside the pumpkin with a spigot.
A day late, but maybe keep in mind for next year.

No, didn't end up doing this. The pumpkin was 2-3 times the size of a basketball and that was just too big for this idea. I still think using this a grog/punch bowl would be a nice touch next year.

I was going to put my apfelwein in it but I could do something similar with a watermelon in the spring/summer. I bet a hint of WM in AW would be awesome!
