I plan on installing a weldless ball valve in my boil kettle. How do I best protect the handle & O-rings from the heat generated by the burner from my turkey fryer? The bottom of the kettle gets really hot.

I burnt the plastic off the handle on the valve on the 2nd batch, the seals in the valve are teflon and can stand the heat.
the o rings are high temp(red ones)and should never get any hotter than 212 deg..
I have not had any problems so far and I have done over 20 batches with it
