Ok so I have a 1 gallon batch of beer and I'm getting ready to bottle it any day now. I'm just wondering how to go about adding the priming sugar into this bottling process.. I know I need to use about 1 oz of priming sugar to the bottle bucket with the beer in it, but how much water should I use when getting the priming sugar ready??

Add the sugar to 1/2 cup of water and heat it til the sugar is dissolved. Pour the sugar water into your bottling bucket first. Then add your beer. This should mix everything fine. You should be good to go

You also have the option to use the 1/2 teaspoon Domino dots sugar cubes.. One cube is perfect for a 12 ounce bottle, for many styles.

Ok cool! Should I try not to splash the fermented beer around, or does it matter at this point?? For oxygen not getting tithe ever imean

Do your best to keep your beer as un-oxidized as possible. Once you pitch your yeast until you crack the bottle for drinking, oxygen is the enemy. I treat the fermenters like bombs... Careful transport, easy movements, no shaking or dropping. :D

Ok so here's my last question.. I don't have a bottling bucket. I have a fermenter and that's pretty much it. So could I make the priming sugar, then evenly distribute the sugar into all of the bottles. Then once that's done I add the beer into the bottles?? I'm still a work in progress and still have to acquires few items

You could use carbonation drops that you add directly to the bottle and then fill the bottle and cap it.

It could work, but I think it would be really hard to get consistent carbonation that way.

What type of vessel are you fermenting in?

If you can it would be best to use something to mix your beer and sugar in. Since your only bottling 1 gallon you could use a kitchen pot or other vessel to bottle from just make sure it's sanitized as well as everything your beer comes in contact with. You could score you a plastic bucket from lowes or a feed store for a couple bucks and use that. Like the other fellow said try to prevent introducing any o2 to your beer. Just be easy and don't slosh anything around and you will be ok. I hope everything works out well.

For small batches, try asking at a local bakery for a bucket. They have food-grade buckets from frosting and fillings.
