Can I use brown sugar to prime with, and I have a chart that says how much of other sugars I will need for 5 gal etc. but no brown sugar

Yes, you can use it. Measure by weight and not volume, and treat it the same as sucrose (table sugar).

Using different types of sugar may change the taste in the end. I would not recommend using brown sugar in a light lager for example.

Thank you, will stick with adding to the boil then

Huh?? Priming sugar is added to beer right before bottling, adding it to the boiling wort will be fermented by the yeast and will not carbonate your beer.
