I am planning on bottling a vanilla bourbon porter tonight, but do not have any corn sugar. I was thinking about using either DME, or brown sugar. If anyone has experience using either (I'm a noob), please feel free to give me your thoughts (positive and negative). Thanks all!

Cheers!

I've been on their website, I was wondering more about the flavor that either of those would impart on the beer.

Cheers!

brown sugar does leave a nice flavor in beers that it tastes good in . do not use it in your light beers like a blonde . Dark fruity or musty beers work well with it .
table sugar is what I always use . My darker beers I like about 3/4 tsp to the bottle . 5 oz is just too much as far as I am concerned . even 1/2 tsp is good on some . kits usually give you 1 ounce per gallon . Do not know if that is weight or volume as I forget but they are quite close to each other .
table sugar will not leave any flavor and no despite what some say it will not make your beer cidery. maybe if you use it for ABV boost and use a bunch it might .
