Ok here it is. I'm somewhat new to brewing (4 batches). I've always used the priming sugar that came with my extract kit. This time they were out of stock. Now I need to determine how much and what to use on my own and I'm not experienced enough yet. I've referenced the calculators but they can be somewhat confusing. I made a honey weizen and want to bottle it today !! I figure after racking I will have between 4 and 4.5 gallons of actual beer. Someone please help !!

Honey will be a great priming sugar for that. I have never used anything but either honey or brown sugar for priming. Here is a link for a brew chart that has a good priming calculator in it: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f84/cps-brew-workbook-260911/

The amount of priming sugar needed is based on the volume of CO2 you want the amount of beer and the maximum temperature during fermentation and the type of priming sugar used. Also you need to use a scale and weigh it not use a volume measure like a cup.

You can use any sugar really. I've primed with corn sugar (aka what comes in a kit), table sugar, and maple syrup. Aside from a very slight maple flavor from the syrup, I really haven't been able to tell any difference in any of them.

This link is to what is, in my opinion, the best priming sugar calculator available online. It can help you out a ton.

I did a search and 'grem135' posted a link to a carbonation calculator in answer to a query from 'benzy4010' on 1/10/13. Here's the skinny:
Assuming 4 gallons at 65* and that you want 2.5 volumes of co2(pretty average). If you have corn sugar, then use 3.42 oz. If table sugar, then use 3.25oz. Best to weigh it, but if you don't have a scale, 3.25oz. should be about 1/2 cup.
**Just saw 'homebrewdad's post and went to the NB link- more clear to use and it listed Hefeweizen as wanting 3.6 volumes co2. Lists weights and volume measures. Use this one.**
