I am seeing prime dose a lot in brewers mags, anyone here use it? Can you use it in a keg and how long does it take?

Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

I've used it once in bombers. After three weeks the bottles were perfect. Two weeks after that, they were close to exploding. I'm not sure what the issue was.

Geez, they kind of make priming sound like rocket science, don't they? "The formula is a turning point in the search for a solution to priming sugar problems and fizz drop fiascos, expanding the guarantee of perfect bottled beer beyond force-carbonated methods ...Prime Dose is the culmination of a years worth of R&D effort." Personally I'd just boil up a couple ounces of sugar. If you're that worried about yeast health or have a huge beer throw in some champagne yeast or something. For a small amount of bottles the carb drops are a lot cheaper.

I used it on a recent batch and the so called vegetable grade tablets did not and still have not dissolved. it's been over 3 months now. I don't believe that you need to painstakingly take each tablet apart.
The directions do not state that. I would not buy again. I enclosed a pics of what it looked like. The bottles did get carbonated to satisfaction, but the hassle of these mini condoms floating does not make the beer better or worth it.

oh im still drinking it, the beer came out amazing, no thanks to prime dose. I just won't give any of these away. Maybe they will dissolve over more time.

I used Prime Dose also. Northern Brewer knows about this problem and sent me an email with a code for 10% off my next purchase.
They also mentioned that if you have any left, that you should take the capsules apart and use the contents only....something to do with excess humidity at the plant.
