So I've got a brand new conversion kit for my kegerator. Everything is done and I'm now ready to connect everything up. I've read mixed thoughts on using Teflon tape for the beer lines. I also have some keg lube, so I'm wondering what is the "best practice" for preventing future leaks. In addition to lubing the rubber gaskets on the keg itself, should I be lubing the beer lines that go into the metal barb connections or anywhere else? What about the gas lines?

Thanks!

The only place teflon tape is used is on tapered pipe threads. Anything that's a flare connection seals by compressing the flared union, the threads are just there for mechanical clamping.

You shouldn't use keg lube to install the tubing on the flares, either. Some hot water can help a lot here.
