Hey, so I brewed a batch of pumpkin ale last night and woke up to this. What does it mean? How can I fix it? Please let me know, thanks!!

If it has finished making that mess I'd just leave it and pour some sanitizer in the airlock and clean up the outside with a sponge so as not to have a room full of fruit flies. If it is still going strong though, do what the Sheckster suggested. :)

By the way, your beer is fine. It's just bigger than the bucket at the moment. ;)

Damn, that looks tasty already. :mug:

Can I ask which pumkin ale recipe/kit you used? That's the one I'll be doing next.

my guess is you over filled your bucket and the karusen bubbled out the airlock HARD. like others have said don't worry. with that much junk coming out nothing can get back in. switch to a blow off tube till it calms down. if its done (probably not) just clean and sanitize the airlock and put it back in.

Midwest? Great! That's the one I had my eye on. Guess I'll have to get an overflow ready just in case. That brew really took off. Good luck with it. I'll be really curious to hear how it comes out.

Yea, it was MAYBE 12 hours after brewing. And that picture is after some of it was cleaned up

It's never happened to me with any other batches
