I know there are many threads on this topic, but my concern is mainly that I didn't get a complete fill of my CO2 tank when I originally had it filled.
I have had the tank hooked up to a dual regulator body setup in my kegerator with 2 kegs on gas for about 3 weeks now with no apparent leakage, problems, etc. Yesterday I kicked one of the 2 kegs, cleaned it and filled it with a new batch to go in the kegerator. I have my CO2 tank in the fridge, and it was reading about 400 psi when I put the freshly filled keg on gas in the fridge. Over the next several hours, the tank pressure dropped to about 100 psi. I pressurized the newly filled keg to ~30 psi and checked for leaks with some Star-San solution. There were no visible leaks on the keg (lid, posts, poppets). I left the keg pressurized in the fridge overnight and will check to see if it is still holding pressure this afternoon. I also pressurized the regulator system and checked each joint for leaks. I submerged the CO2 disconnects in water and saw no bubbles.
At this point, I am fairly certain that I don't have any leaks. As I said, I believe I maybe didn't get a complete fill of the CO2 tank to begin with. When I have the tank refilled today, I will record the tare weight of the empty tank and then weight it again when I get it home. My understanding is that tank pressure is not an accurate measure of the amount of CO2 in the tank, as it will read the same until all of the liquid CO2 is gone.
I'll report back with my findings later. Has anyone else had trouble with getting a complete fill of your CO2 tanks?
Thanks!
