I would like to do a full boil on this kit instead of the suggested 2.5 gallons. I contacted NB to see if the had an adjustment to the hop schedule for this process and this is the response I received:
"The hop additions shouldn't change at all since the recipe was originally created under the conditions of a full boil. Just start the batch with 6-6.5 gallons of water and that should be all that you need to change."
This doesn't seem right to me due to the rules of hop utilization and boil volumes. Why would they give a hop schedule produced for a full boil and instruct brewers to use 2.5 gallons? Any ideas? I emailed NB back and am waiting for a response but thought I'd get some input here also.
