What's your favorite favorite way to delete something? I prefer the ol' backspace key myself.

-Ctrl + X works, but then the offending text is left in your clipboard; hardly ideal.
-Likewise one could arrow back in front of the text, press the "insert" key, and type over the text, but then you're left with new text to be deleted and back at square one.
-You could arrow back in front the the text and use the "delete" key, but that's a lot of extra keystrokes.
-You could also highlight-and-delete, and this method certainly has its merits.
-Someone once told me to try using a pencil eraser on my screen, but it just made my screen all smudgy and didn't seem to do anything towards ridding my textual errors.
-A shotgun works almost instantaneously, but I suggest this method be used only as a last resort.
