The last time we went to the food bank (yeah,we're the new poor) last month,& they gave us a turkey & a small bottle (12oz) of "key lime savory oil". It's by Floribbean,& says it's good for Tapas, salads,& cooking. Aaaaalllrighty then! OMG,does it smell great! I smeared it all over a 12-13lb Honeysuckle white turkey. Then mixed up some Cajun rub & rubbed it all over that.
I saved back some rub to mix with more of this fine smellin oil to mop with. Tossed it in the pit with charcoal topped with pin oak. Should be wonderful some 10 hours from now. I've got 2 bags of charcoal, more wood,2 cans of starter fluid,& a chimney. I love pit bbqing big chunks of meat!

If you don't get pics, I'm going to be very dissapointed. This sounds awesome.

I'm a key-limeaholic.

Ribs I did this weekend were liberally glased with lime juice and honey (with some grape jelly and diced jalapenos, but the lime came through really bright and tasty!)

I'll have to see if I can scrounge some batteries for the camera. The cheap ones I put in last week are dead already. Damn kids keep usin it,& wear them down by the time I need it.

Well,it's been in the pit for 4 hours,& the Cajun rub infused key lime oil is giving it a beautiful color. And the smell?...fugetaboutit! Man! Can you smell that? It smells GOOD! Goin out to check the pit,...I got ma bbq shoes on...

Well, after about 7 hours in the pit,The last hour grilling the stuffing,it turned out great! The key lime oil really stands up to the Cajun rub/infusion of same. Great color too. The key lime flavor complimented the other flavors really well. Even the smoke flavor from the pin oak. You guys gotta find this stuff & try it. Gotta get a pic of it up when I get new batteries.

I Google'd tha toil and put it on my list of something to try for my next big cookout.

Glad to hear it turned out well!
